What is Ancillaries?

Products and services sold in addition to the base airline fare — checked baggage, seat selection, meals, priority boarding, lounge access, Wi-Fi and similar. Airlines distribute them through EMDs, branded fares and, increasingly, NDC offers.

Also called: ancillary services, add-ons.

Why it matters

Ancillaries are often where NDC content differs most from what a traditional GDS feed shows, which is one reason agencies connect NDC alongside GDS.
